Sociology is an elective Social Studies course that studies human society and social behavior. This course examines concepts including: social structure, socialization, cultural diversity, social conformity, deviance, social control, stratification, and modernization. The interplay between these concepts explains the causes and consequences of social inequality, and how our society is both stable and changing. This course will use critical thinking skills to analyze and explore sociology concepts through readings, social experiments, group discussions, and film studies.
